Open Graph Preview Tool

See exactly how your link card looks before you hit publish.

What Open Graph tags do

When you share a link on Facebook, LinkedIn, or X, the platform doesn't guess what to show — it reads specific meta tags (og:title, og:description, og:image, and the twitter:* equivalents) from the page's HTML. If those tags are missing or wrong, your link shows up with a random image, a blank description, or the wrong headline.

This tool fetches the page and shows you exactly what those platforms will render, before you post it.

How to use this tool

1Paste the URL you're about to share.
2Click Preview — the page is fetched and its Open Graph and Twitter Card tags are read.
3Check both the Facebook/LinkedIn-style card and the X card render the way you'd expect.
4If something's missing, add the relevant meta tag to the page and re-check.

Common problems this catches

  • A missing og:image, which makes shared links look broken or generic
  • A stale cached preview after you've updated the page (most platforms cache aggressively)
  • A description tag that's empty, truncated oddly, or pulled from the wrong part of the page

FAQ

I fixed my tags but the platform still shows the old preview — why?
Facebook, LinkedIn, and X all cache link previews aggressively. Each has its own cache-debugging tool (like Facebook's Sharing Debugger) to force a re-scrape after you've made changes.
Why does it say "no image found" even though my page has images?
Platforms only use the image specified in the og:image (or twitter:image) meta tag — they don't scan the page for any image to use.
Can I preview a page that requires login?
No — this tool fetches the page the same way a public crawler would, so anything behind authentication won't be visible.
Does this tool store the URLs I check?
No. The page is fetched on request to render the preview and nothing is saved afterward.
